Energetický a průmyslový holding (EPH) is advancing its transformation from fossil fuels to a sustainable energy future through innovative projects across Europe.
France: Repowering and Battery Storage
EPH’s subsidiary Gazel Energie is repowering its wind farms in Brittany, France, increasing output by 30% and recycling 98% of old turbine materials. At the Emile Huchet power plant site, the company is building a battery storage with an installed capacity of 35 MW and a storage capacity of 44 MWh. It will store enough energy to provide daily energy cosumption of 10,000 households.
Italy: New Investments in Clean Flexibility
In Italy, EP Produzione is developing five projects that support the national energy transition, including 170 MW of battery storage and upgrades to combined-cycle plants that increase efficiency and cut CO₂ and NOₓ emissions. Former coal assets, like Fiume Santo, are being transformed into renewable/low-carbon energy hubs.

The Netherlands: Large-Scale Battery for Grid Stability
In partnership with Eneco, EP NL is developing a 50 MW / 200 MWh battery project at the Enecogen power plant in Rotterdam’s Europoort. The system will enhance grid flexibility by storing renewable energy during periods of surplus and releasing it when demand peaks. This will provide more flexibility for the Dutch electricity system when the battery is put into operation in 2027.
